Amazon Alexa has arrived in Canada, and she’s bringing with her a helpful new way to make your life easier. Alexa is a cloud-based voice service that responds to your voice to play music, control your smart home, get information, news, weather and more. Alexa is also the voice service behind Amazon’s family of Echo smart speaker devices like the Amazon Echo, Echo Plus and Echo Dot. With Alexa, getting answers to your questions is as simple as just asking. And at Aviva, we like simple.

We’re excited to announce that we are bringing the Aviva experience to Alexa and Echo.

Now, you can get answers to common insurance questions by speaking to Alexa on any Alexa device. You’ll be able to ask Alexa questions like “Alexa, ask Aviva what does full coverage mean?” or “Alexa, ask Aviva what is Accident Benefits coverage?” If you live in Ontario, you’ll also be able to get an auto insurance quote with Alexa in as little as two minutes, just by answering a few questions.

All you have to do to get started is enable the Aviva Insurance skill on Alexa. What’s a skill? In the world of Alexa and Echo, skills are like apps or programs that you can enable for Alexa to expand her capabilities. You can learn all about Alexa skills here.

Amazon Echo devices arrive in Canada on December 5th.
